Dr. Richard Childress, Pastor

Dr. Childress has been Pastor of churches in Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia over the past 28 years, and brings to New Hope a wealth of experience, great enthusiasm and boundless energy for advancing the kingdom of God.

 Rev. Brian Lockamy, Minister to Students

Rev. Lockamy is a graduate of Campbell University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Trust Management / Financial Planning. In 1995, Brian graduated from Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond. He served as Youth Minister at Beulah Baptist Church, Aylett, VA and Minister to Children, Youth and Education at First Baptist Church, Eden, NC before coming to New Hope Baptist Church as Minister to Students in 1998. Brian has been involved in Youth and College Missions in Israel, Kentucky, Mississippi, Alabama, Miami, Ukraine, Honduras and Belize. Brian enjoys fishing, scouting, and spending time with family. Brian and his wife, Beth, have three sons, Justin, Tyler, and Andrew.

Rev. Laura Tabor, Associate Minister of Music

Laura is a native of Georgetown, Kentucky. In 2007 she earned a Bachelor of Arts, with a major in Music and a minor in Youth Ministry. She moved to North Carolina in the Fall of 2007 to attend Campbell University Divinity School where she received a Master of Divinity with a concentration in Music and Worship. She now lives in Raleigh with Murphy, her 4 year old black and brown tabby cat. She’s an avid reader and enjoys playing tennis in her free time.
